Solingen enjoys worldwide fame as centre of the German cutlery and flatware industry. Naturally the city is home to a cutlery museum, the ‘German blade museum’. Solingen is connected to Remscheid by the Müngsten Bridge, which is still today Germany’s highest railway bridge.
